With offices in Lancaster and Lebanon and multiple community partners, The Literacy Council is a neighborhood resource where adults can build basic skills, prepare for a high school equivalency test, learn English, prepare for jobs and job training and build a career path. All services are free. We meet our students where they are and create a personalized program as a partner in their education. Through strong student support services, we help students make informed choices about education, training and employment, so they can achieve their goals.
The Literacy Council offers convenient and flexible classes and tutoring options, with emphasis on placing adult learners in the right program that helps them adjust to life as a student. Instruction is taught in the context of students’ goals, interests and needs, as community members, family members and workers.
Qualified, caring and committed staff and volunteers are here to support students throughout their journeys.
