Our Community

Lancaster and Lebanon Counties

There are 104,000 adults in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties who could earn more money by improving their skills (https://nces.ed.gov/surveys/piaac/litproficiencylevel.asp.) The Literacy Council is a place in our community where adult learners can get free education services at sites throughout the two counties.

  • Can you use The Literacy Council?
  • Do you need a high school diploma?
  • Do you need to improve your reading, math and writing skills?
  • Do you need to learn English?
  • Are you having trouble finding a job because you need to improve your skills?
  • Do you want to go to college or job training and need help getting ready?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, The Literacy Council can help you reach your goals.

The Literacy Council will work with you to build a program that meets your needs and helps you prepare for your next step.

DONATE INVEST in your community

Supporting adult literacy and basic education in your community is a sound investment. Adult education programs have measurable returns. This comes in the form of increased tax revenue and reduced reliance on social services. Educated citizens work, pay taxes and give back to their communities.

The official registration and financial information of The Literacy Council of Lancaster-Lebanon, LVA, Inc. may be obtained from the Pennsylvania Department of State by calling toll free, within Pennsylvania, 1 (800) 732-0999. Registration does not imply endorsement.
